The Province of Manitoba

Manitoba is the most easterly of the Prairie Provinces and is 250,946 square miles in size. It is situated in central Canada, with Saskatchewan to the West, Ontario to the East, Nunavut bordering the North and the US states of North Dakota and Minnesota to the South. The Province is in the Central Time Zone, which is Greenwich Meantime -6 hours. Between the months of April and October Daylight Saving is in effect and the difference is GMT -5 hours.

The vast majority of Manitoba's total population of 1,150,800 (2002) live in the Southern part of the Province. The Provincial Capital is Winnipeg, which is located in the South of the Province along with Manitoba's second largest city Brandon and the main gatew...
